I enjoyed renting from National this time. Their prices were much better than the competitors and I didn't feel like they were trying to up charge me on additional services. I will rent with them again.
Priced great, better than competition. Upgraded me and didn't charge for going beyond rental time. Exceptional service!
The vehicle was clean and new, which was really nice. The only setback I had was not being able to easily add an Additional Driver even though I had their Emerald #, which should have pulled up all of the info needed in the system for the Agents I spoke with. Other than that, it was a good experience.
the only thing keeping National from a 5 star is the dirty inside of the windshield. I have had the same issue in Hilo, HI, Charlotte NC and Burlington VT
My experience at the rental office in Burlington was seriously degraded when I discovered that the estimate for driving the car to NY (Westchester county) was going to cost me over $2,000.00!! I spent 5 days in Burlington and then returned the car to the airport office in Burlington because there was no way I was going to pay $2,000 to take it to NY. It would have been cheaper to charter a private jet! So, I returned the car and then went down the isle to the AVIS company where they rented me a car for $375 to drop off in NY. I have been a customer of National for years but I will no longer look to them for competitive pricing. Apparently, my loyalty and Emerald membership means little or nothing. The desk clerk at National was very understanding and the desk service was efficient and courteous, but they can do little to alter the company rate tables.
